URL shortener

Turn a long, unwieldy URL into a short, shareable link — with your own custom code if you like. Fast, free and no account needed.

/s/

Short links are stored so they keep working. Don't shorten private or sensitive URLs.

How it works

1. Paste your long URL

Put the full web address in the field — including https:// or we'll add it.

2. Choose a code (optional)

Leave it blank for a random code, or pick your own memorable one.

3. Share your short link

Copy the short link and share it anywhere. It keeps working.

Frequently asked questions

What is a shortened URL?

A shortened URL is a short link that redirects to a longer web page. Handy for newsletters, social media, presentations or print — shorter looks tidier and is easier to type.

Do the links keep working?

Yes. The mapping between the short code and the long URL is stored, so the link keeps working. It's a static link: the destination is fixed at the moment you create it.

Can I choose my own code?

Yes. Optionally enter a custom code (3–32 characters: letters, numbers, - or _), for example /s/summer-sale. If it's already taken, we'll ask you to pick another.

Which links should I avoid shortening?

Don't shorten private or sensitive URLs (for example links with personal tokens), because anyone with the short link can open it. For public pages the tool is ideal.
