Who we are

Division Software is a software studio in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, building websites, web shops, apps and custom software for businesses. We are the data controller for personal data collected through divsoftware.nl.

Questions about this policy or about your data? Use the quote form or the contact page, which also says how quickly you can expect a reply.

Data you give us yourself

When you fill in the quote form we store what you enter: your name, email address, optionally your phone number, the project type, your message, the language of the page and the page you sent it from. We also record your browser's user-agent string to help spot spam.

This is stored in a Cloudflare D1 database in the European Union and used to answer your enquiry and send you a quote. We notify ourselves of a new enquiry over Telegram and/or email (Resend).

Legal basis: performance of a contract, or steps taken at your request before entering into one. We keep enquiries for as long as the quote and the bookkeeping that follows require.

Analytics and measurement

We use two analytics services to see which pages work and where visitors get stuck:

  • PostHog — page views, button clicks and session recordings. Person profiles are set to identified_only, meaning we do not build a profile for anonymous visitors.
  • Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics — page views and conversions.
  • Cloudflare Analytics Engine — one event per submitted quote request, with nothing that identifies you.

These services set cookies and read your IP address. Please note: the site currently loads them without asking for consent first. We are changing that; until then you can block the trackers with a browser extension or your browser's Do Not Track setting.

Server logs and security

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes technical request data (including your IP address) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our own logs are kept for about seven days.

Two features store an IP address temporarily to limit abuse: the URL shortener records the IP that created a link, and the AI tool counts how many requests an IP has made in the past hour. Legal basis: legitimate interest (preventing abuse and runaway cost).

The free tools

Most tools on this site run entirely in your own browser. Images you compress or remove the background from never leave your device, and we never receive or store them.

There are two exceptions, and each says so on the tool itself:

  • The URL shortener stores the link you create on our server — the short link cannot work otherwise.
  • The AI meta description generator sends the text you paste to a language model on Cloudflare's servers (Workers AI). We do not keep that text; only a row with your IP address and a timestamp, to enforce the limit of twenty requests per hour.

The SEO analyzer fetches the page you give it. Do not enter URLs that are not public.

Storage in your browser

We keep two small preferences in your browser's localStorage: whether you turned on dark mode, and whether you dismissed the promotional bar at the top. These stay on your device and are never sent to us.

Parties that process data for us

We use the following providers. They process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, database, logs and AI inference.
  • PostHog — product analytics (EU region).
  • Google — Tag Manager and Analytics.
  • Telegram and Resend — notifications of new quote requests.

Some of these are established outside the European Economic Area. Transfers are made under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You may also object to processing and request that your data be transferred. Send your request through the contact form; we usually reply within one business day and always within one month.

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Changes

We update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top shows when the text was last changed in substance.
